Great family cabin overall!!!
Reviewed by Hope on 8/28/2010
We rented Crest View with four adults and four children; two infants in pack and plays. The location was convenient to asheville, which we went to often, and hiking trails in Hendersonville, although a little far... The beds were slightly uncomfortable...the upstairs metal bunks for kids makes an unreal racket when a child is on top (squeaks) so we only used the bottom bunk...the kitchen wasn't equipped with enough cooking pans, utensils, dishtowels, hot pads,etc...I bought several items and left them:) We cook a lot and need many items for 8 people...the grill was great...We had our air conditioner break down, and by nightfall it was fixed..the staff are most gracious and friendly; I also had to ask for another vacuum as our didn't work and got one promptly...the cabin could have been cleaned a little more thoroughly...the bathrooms and kitchen were clean; tops of light fixtures hadn't been done in awhile...floor had crumbs under fridge and along stove and baseboards...not a big deal but every once in a while it should be deep cleaned... We would recommend this cabin to anyone ...bring gates if you have toddlers,as the stairs are dangerous with no carpeting...and the throw rugs slip all over the place as no rug grips; we just put them away whiile we were there...you need dish towel( i bought one) wisk broom, oven mit(there is only one) and your own cleaning supplies if you like to clean kitchen every day as I do...they leave you dishwasher capsules only...also bring beach towels for pool and to put on rockers on porch when it rains...they get really wet!! View is amazing..pool is great...Oh;almost forgot; bring a laundry basket!! Hopefully they will have bought one because that was my reccomendation; but carrying clothes up two flights of stairs for a week is no fun:)
Beautiful!

My brothers and I met here for a family reunion. I am so happy we did! The cabins are beautiful and so is the scenery. We hiked down the ski slopes, swam in the pool and played on the playground. Everyone (even the teenagers) had a wonderful time. We would love to come back again!
Great views

The cabin was great. We had two families with a total of five kids, and it was plenty big to accomadate all of us. The viiews of the mountains were beautiful and we all enjoyed the hot tub. The game room was awesome for the kids and so was the pool. It is a little bit of a drive up the mountain, but its worth it.
relaxing

Great place to stay, wish it was cleaner, found underwear in bathroom, clothes in bedroom, None of the board games could be used. Great Kitchen however "fully equipped" is stretching it, couple of pots there however the coating on them were scratched off, oven needs to be re calibrated and stove top was dirty, we stuck with the grill most of the time due to lack of equipment. Beds were great to sleep in and had privacy also, very quiet at night-great way to sleep !! Little scary getting up the mountain however the view is worth it. Great staff at the visitor center, Mr. Wolf was a great help with discounts and places to go and very humerous. Would come back and stay again. Rental management were very thorough in sending information and advising us what we should do before arriving and what to do while there.
It was wonderful!!

A clean, well-appointed cabin; ridiculously easy access to the slopes; 30 minutes to a parking space in downtown Asheville; friendly, helpful staff. Very reasonably priced. I can't imagine how this could have been better!
Quite satisfied with our stay at Scenic Wolf

Normal travel is tiring enough but we came up on a day characterized by unusually heavy snow (and traffic out of Atlanta)so we were exhausted by the time we arrived and were concerned for most of the trip about the road up to the resort. To our extreme satisfaction, the resort had done a good job keeping the roads drivable. Most importantly, we found no surprises when we checked-in. The cabin was exactly as represented on the website which was also a big concern for us. The resort staff are professionals and very accomadating. It was our first experience staying walking distance to slopes and it will be the way we rent going forward! We had a great time! Thnaks all.
Merged Family Making Memories

We had two families stay at the house that had not really ever spent much time together before. We stayed there as we planned to go white-water rafting that next day (Saturday). It was only 30 minutes away from the resort. The couple of 30-year olds and the teenagers wound up staying up until 2am playing Risk, a game that was there. They also enjoyed the swimming pool at the welcome center and billiards table on the ground floor of the house. The ?adults? enjoyed the chairs on the deck where were enjoyed a glass of wine and conversation along with the awesome views. We rarely turned on the TVs. The house was clean and the staff was super-friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend this house and resort for families that value together-time and making memories.
A good vacation

My family and I stayed for Labor Day weekend. The cabin was very nice and cozy. We loved the view and the fact there was plenty of space and TVs for all of us. We didn't need to leave the resort at all. On our way there we bought plenty of groceries for the whole weekend. We grilled, cooked and enjoyed a lot the cabin. The jacuzzi and the indoor pool was definitely a plus. We had a small issue with a fireplace but within five minutes we had someone taking care of that for us. The service was great and the people from the resort really friendly. I definitely would like to go back. Winter perhaps may be a great time for our second time at this resort.
Beautiful Cabin, Beautiful Views

I rented the cabin for girls getaway and we comfortably slept 11 women in this tidy and cute cabin. The hot-tub was a treat and kitchen was very user-friendly. The best part was probably the view. The only complaint we had we the distance between the cabin and Asheville which on the map seemed fairly reasonable for traveling between but in reality, took longer due to the winding and slow trek up the mountain to the resort.
Cozy atmosphere, perfect for multiple families!

#131 Crestview-Heaven on Earth

Wow-what can I say? Scenic Wolf Resort is wonderful. We arrived very late at night and were not able to see the surroundings. When we awoke on Saturday morning, we were mesmerized with the view of the mountains. Unit 131 was much more than we expected. I thought the unit was two stories and it was actually three! The hot tub was so relaxing and the slide at the pool was awesome! The employees were courteous and friendly. My husband fell while we were there and ended up in the hospital with a broken leg. This put a snag in our vacation plans but I would highly recommend this unit and resort to anyone I know. We will definetly be back. I would highly recommend the travel insurance-it covered a sedan with driver to drive my husband back to Charleston, SC from Asheville. This was money well spent. Once again, what a super place-thanks for everything!
